Meet Pastor J!God has sent to the Community family a mighty warrior in the Spirit that wreaks havoc for the kingdom of God! Pastor Vincent Cortez Johnson is a native of the beautiful Island of Nassau in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. He received his BA in Theology and Social Science from the American Baptist Theological Seminary. “Pastor J”, as he is affectionately called, is known for his fiery delivery of God’s Word and his down to earth personality. He seeks to build a ministry that is characterized by helping those that are hurting, without guidance and to empower the body of believers.
In January, 2019, Pastor and Lady J have assumed the role as the Spiritual Advisers to the Volunteer State Mass Choir. Pastor Johnson and First Lady Johnson are the proud parents of three lovely daughters, Etana Aulissa, Eyden Amiana and Emiah Destiny. Her favorite scripture defines what she truly believes - “I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”(Jeremiah 29:11).
“Sis. J”, as she is affectionately called by her church family, received her BA degree in Accounting in 1997 and Master’s Degree in Business Administration in 1999, both from Tennessee State University. She has extensive experience in Healthcare Management and Operations, Finance and Accounting. Whether it is preparing for a board presentation, or participating in a skit, she consistently demonstrates a tremendous work ethic and is “all-in” in everything she does. She has a good sense of humor, is a passionate leader and teacher, a woman of strong character, walks in integrity, and is generous with her time and resources. Additionally, she has made a positive, sustained difference, serving on the executive board of the Hope, Love, Belief (HLB). She is also a member of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), Wives of Ministers Embracing Newness, Ambassador Dr. Bobby Jones Consortium Honoree Society, and co-founder of the non-profit organization, Nashville & Lewisburg’s Women of Vision. "Sis J" was one of 28 ladies featured in the recently published book, "Virtuous Women and their journey in Faith". She actively gives back to the community through the efforts of the Nashville Rescue Mission, Second Harvest, Habitat for Humanity, Nashville's Room In the Inn, Wounded Warrior, and Susan Komen. As a helpmate to the Under-Shepherd of CBC, she is committed to building a vibrant, God-honoring ministry alongside her husband. She serves gracefully as Advisor to the body of Christ and Director of the CBC Women’s, Karar Praise Dance and Media Matters Ministries. She, along with Pastor J was named in January 2019 as the Spritual Advisors to the Volunteer State Mass Choir. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
